Why is this important?

nature improves the quality of life for all

As urban dwellers who love nature, we often visit nearby parks and trails to connect with the natural world. However, as cities grow, green spaces become scarce, negatively impacting our happiness and well-being.

At Livelihood, we envision a world where urban and natural environments coexist for a better quality of life for all. To make this a reality, we invest 25% of our profits to restore native habitats and build parks in American cities.

The Problem

the world loses 3,733 square miles of native habitat every year.

A recent study found that urban sprawl destroys 3,377.33 square miles of native habitats per year on average. This is larger than the island of Puerto Rico.

At Livelihood, we believe urban sprawl is the root problem, not urban growth itself. As much as we love nature, we love cities too. We advocate for walkable, dense cities that prioritize people and nature in their design so we can all thrive together.
